Unsung Beauty

Careworn jeans

And seldom sported frocks,

Provided the façade for a girl

Gentle of demeanour,

Yet serious of thought.

With furtive glance,

Yet sincere smile,

She resonated with loyalty,

Known by many,

Yet returned by a precious few.

An ailing heart

She did possess,

With a yearning,

To confide in;

Those that she loved best.

And here I wait,

With replenished hope,

To laugh along

With a girl

Of unsung beauty.
